This course extends your understanding of how to better collect and use data to support students with learning difficulties, disability and/or trauma backgrounds. We examine which data can help you track individual student progression to better inform individual education plans.

Teaching strategies for students with complex needs.

In-person

This course introduces teachers working in mainstream settings to specific resources and strategies that better support students with a disability. All resources can be used within any classroom and are designed to ensure the student with a disability is as independent as possible.

Multisensory phonics.

In-person

This practical course extends teachers’ understanding of how to teach phonics, letter sounds and applies this understanding to students using multi-sensory approaches. We examine different teaching strategies to ensure every child can gain a secure understanding of phonics and develop their phonemic awareness.

Measuring learning progression.

Online or in-person

This course looks at measuring learning progression amongst students across various cohorts. Within the session, teachers and leaders will discuss best practice for measuring educational performance. Participants will explore how to make data collection sustainable and frequent without creating an admin burden. You will also be introduced to dashboarding software to change your excels into visualised data.

Assessment of students with additional needs.

Online or in-person

This course creates an individualised and achievable assessment matrix for students with complex needs. Participants will examine assessment tools across Australia to produce an evidence-based assessment matrix that can be immediately implemented in the classroom. This course is aimed at teachers struggling to find the appropriate assessment measures for their students.
